Do you provide service in all weather conditions?
As long as your rascal is up for it, we walk in rain, snow or shine! If your rascal refuses to walk in the rain, I encourage them to at least head out for a potty break, and we spend the rest of our time together inside, working their mind with enriching activities. If I see lightning in the area, we will wait until it passes for safety purposes. During Georgia's summer heat, I keep an extra close eye on your rascal to prevent overheating and carry water. Georgia winters are pretty mild but please leave a coat or sweater out for your rascal if you think he might need it!
Do you accept last minute requests?
Yes! I do my best to accommodate every request. The more notice the better! Visits requested 4 hours before start time are subject to a $5 Last Minute fee.
What treats do you use?
I always bring treats with me to reinforce good behavior and spoil your rascal! My go to treat is Red Barn Choppers, 100% USA dehydrated beef (GF). Occasionally, I bring along extra special, high reward treats like cheese or hot dogs. Please let me know if your rascal has food sensitivities or treat preferences.
Do you administer medication?
Of course! I'd be happy to administer medication to your rascal.
What's your cancellation policy?
No charge for appointments cancelled by midnight the night before. Appointments cancelled day of will be charged full price
Are you able to come at the exact time of the requested appointment ?
I do my absolute best to arrive at the requested time. However, there is a 90 minute arrival window on either side of the set appointment time. Example, if the appointment is set at noon, I could arrive as early as 10:30 and as late as 1:30. I do try to come at the same time everyday so your rascal can get on a steady schedule.
Will you come later than 8 p.m. or earlier than 8 a.m.?
Yes! For a $5 surcharge, I'd be happy to stop by for a late-night or early morning visit.
How do you handle leash reactive dogs?
Leash reactivity is extremely common, especially in urban environments. Rascal's reaction signifies the need for either more space or less space between him and the other rascal. This is where treats come in handy and provided a great opportunity to counter condition. My goal is to keep rascal's attention on me and keep him calm and happy. Each dog is different, and I'd be delighted to go into further detail with you regarding your rascal, or work with you on the training you have already started.
Do you walk multiple dogs at once? Do you visit dog parks?
I walk rascals who share a household, but I do not walk a group of rascals unfamiliar with each other. And no, I do not visit dog parks with your rascal! Dog parks can be great places for certain rascals, but they can also be very dangerous! When they're with me, we'll stick to the neighborhood!
What will happen if there is an emergency with my pet?
In the event of an emergency (ie: suspected bloat, snake bit, severe respiratory distress...) I will contact you immediately by phone. If you are unable to answer, I will try your emergency contact. If medical attention is needed, I'd be happy to take your rascal to the vet. If you do not list a preferred vet on file, I'll take your rascal to Blue Pearl in West Midtown or Peachtree Hills Animal Hospital.
How do you handle under-socialized dogs?
I have a soft spot for the shy, timid rascal. Stranger danger is very real for some dogs. I will not force your dog to do anything they do not want to. My first goal is to establish trust with your rascal, usually by way of treats, offering a favorite toy, and letting them sense me from a distance. Once we've built a relationship, which can take a few visits, your rascal will be comfortable heading out for walks.
